The following is the text of the letter sent on June 12, 2018 by the office-bearers of the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association to Kim Jong-un, the Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, on the successful accord of North Korea with the United States on an equal basis following his talks with US President Donald Trump at Singapore.
Dear Comrade Kim Jong-un,
On behalf of the All India Indo-Korean Friendship Association we send you our heartfelt greetings and congratulations for your successful accord with the US President on an equal basis to ensure peace not only in the Korean peninsula but also in East Asia and the world. It is significant that this accord will naturally lead to ending the state of war between the DPRK and the USA for over seven decades. This will be a great step forward in removing the shadow of the cold war for which we congratulate you on behalf of the peace loving people of India who have always chosen to stand by the DPRK in its long struggle to end the armistice. You have done it in a manner in which the world has supported you fully as we do.
We are aware that this will require to spell out the way in which a peace treaty will be necessary to bring stability to the Korean peninsula. We have seen how you have taken concrete measures to make sure that Korea will move towards complete denuclearisation. Also, we look forward to the early removal of the unilateral sanctions imposed on the DPRK by the USA as well as those by the UNO which have done greater harm to the people.
What we are looking forward to is the peaceful reunification of the DPRK and South Korea without the interference of other parties, the removal of troops of the USA at present in Korea and the fulfillment of the desires of the Korean people to develop on the basis of self-reliance and self-respect,
Atul Kumar Anjan (President),
